2015 Christmas Assistance Program Dates Announced!

web DarrylKing 2013 -7684The Christmas season can be a challenging time for individuals and families living in Vancouver, BC.  With the help of the community and other organizations we are able to provide the following programs and services throughout November and December:

Friday, October 30, 9:00 – 10:00AM: Final Community Drop-In Breakfast for 2015

November 30 – December 11, Monday – Friday, 9:00AM – 3:00PM: Family Christmas Assistance Assessment/Registration for Vancouver residents ONLY (1 month required) with children ages 0-18 years old.  The following documents are required upon application:

Government Issued Valid ID (No Photocopies) for all family members
Social Services Cards (Medical Care Cards) or Driver’s License, BCID, Birth Certificate, Passport, Status Card

Proof of Address with current date
Paper copies of current hydro bill, phone bill, rent receipt, etc.  *Due to The Salvation Army Computer Access and Usage Policy as well as wi-fi connection capacity, it is your responsibility to prepare paper copies in advance.*

Proof of Income for household
Last 2 months pay or social assistance stubs or bank statements plus Child Tax Benefit Assessment Notice.  *We may require more detailed information regarding your income to qualify for this program.*

The requirements above are for general cases, we would suggest bringing any documents that explain your situation, especially if you don’t have a stable income source, any exclusive difficulties, etc. It will help us understand your situation to better help you.   Please note that you will not qualify for the program if you don’t meet the requirements and/or don’t provide satisfactory documents.  You are welcome back for re-assessment with additional documents during the Assessment/Registration.

December 21 – 22: Care packages for individuals without children (I.D. required)

December 25, 28, and January 1, 2016: Office Closed

Friday, January 8, 2016, 9:00 – 10:00AM: Community Drop-In Breakfast resumes
