The Salvation Army Vancouver Community & Family Services, John Howard Society of the Lower Mainland, Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House, and the Vancouver Public Library-Kensington Branch invite you to the 2015 Cedar Cottage Connect as part of The City of Vancouver’s Homeless Action Week.
The event takes place on October 16, 2015 from 11:00AM-2:00PM at McAuley Park (NE corner @ Fraser & Kingsway). The event will feature a community resource area showcasing local agencies who provide services aimed at homeless and at-risk individuals, i.e. health care, employment, housing, etc. and will also include FREE food! In addition, the public is also encouraged to attend in an effort to learn what they can do in the fight against poverty.
At 12:30PM all are welcome to attend the screening of a short video illustrating the real-life challenges of living on the streets only a 1/2 block away at The Salvation Army Vancouver Community & Family Services, 3213 Fraser Street, Vancouver, BC. Following the video presentation, will be an open community forum/discussion focusing on issues related to housing and homelessness in Vancouver. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. We hope to see you there!
